We tell stories every day from when we first begin to speak in sentences until the day we die. Stories have the power to teach us lessons, to show us love, to make us laugh and smile, to make us cry. Stories speak to our hearts. Watch this short video on the power of storytelling in the Bible and how it connects to our life. Then share some stories of your own!
Having a hard time figuring out where to begin? Here are some ideas:
Tell a story about a time you felt close to God.
Tell a story about a time you felt scared and felt God there with you.
Tell a story about a time you were angry with God, with your family, or with yourself.
Pick a bible story and retell the story as if you are one of the characters in that story!
Tell a story about a time you felt loved.
Tell a story about a time that you felt really connected to other people.
The possibilities are endless! Use your imagination and creativity and feel free to tell your story using art, or music, or drama. Try different ways of telling your story. For example, what would it be like if you began your story from the ending and worked backwards? Or leaving the ending open-ended? Share your stories with others! If you would like to share your stories with others, please send them to Mother AJ @ [email protected] and I'll upload them to the website!
